I hexed the Bobcat and it has 3 textures that are not in the game, They show up in my game, but no one elses...Anyone have any idea how to fix this, I tried sending those people the textures to put into their games but it seems it still doesnt work :/ I'm stumped and dissappointed because these people were excited about a bobcat not a tabby with a stump tail and addball chest :/ fail...
Help would be appreciated Thank you <3 Daveena

have you been hexing using Petz Workshop? you'll find that if you add textures using that, they don't direct to the textures properly (no one knows why?!) so you'll just have to go into the breedfile with LNZ (and the petz you adopted from before you changed this path in the breedfile too) to find the texture list, which looks like this:
[Texture List] \art\textures\jowl1.bmp 1 \art\textures\hair6.bmp 1 \art\textures\hair10.bmp 1
although the front bit for you will look like \ptzprofiles\texture.bmp or something... essentially you just have to make sure that any textures you use from in-game has the beginning path of
\art\textures\TEXTURENAMEHERE.bmp
and any external textures has the beginning path of
\Resource\Catz (or Dogz!)\TEXTURENAMEHERE.bmp
of course that's assuming that is where you've put your external textures (it's where people usually do but you could always make a completely new folder for it or something). hope this helps! if not, do ask me to explain better c:

OK when I run petz on my computer, I have to run it in as an admin otherwise I have like 100089 petz in my adopted petz folder that wont go away and none of my hexies are in the AC, when I run it as an admin I have the correct number of petz in my adopted list and my hexies are well hexed. So if I just click on the petz icon my tabby file isnt the bobcat file and the bobcats I hexed and adopted out are orange w/o texture...I went into LNZ and this is what I've got going on there, however when I'm running the game as admin all is right, I'm trying to get it so it can work for those other people, but I'm a failure at using LNZ (never really messed with it) and do not understand what exactly I need to do to fix this problem so when I adopt the bobcats out they have everything they need without being naked lol Thank you! <3

oh is this a vista/windows 7 problem? I'll not be much help here... I primarily work on xp, but I do have 7 on my laptop :c well, I find that I have two PF Magic folders on my windows 7 because I'm a moron and didn't install it in Documents... so I found one folder where it should be (Program Files/PF Magic/etc) but that one only has the original files in and if I switch a breedfile in there or try to put petz in the Adopted Petz folder, they just don't show up. using this thread, I found where my petz were! idk if this is relevant/helpful for you, hopefully it is, but this is what I have to do: to get my hexed files to work, I have to take out the breedfile, say I've used the Great Dane file, from the standard C:/Program Files/PF Magic/Resources/Dogz folder (I put this in Documents for safe-keeping). then I put the hexed Great Dane file not in the folder I took the original out of, but into the one that the link I posted above takes you to (C:/Users/ yourusername/AppData/Local/Virtual Store/Program Files/PF Magic/Resource/Dogz), as well as any external textures that I need for that hex. when I want my original Dane file back in for breeding, I have to take out the ones in the AppData/Local/Virtual Store/etc folder, and put the original breedfile back into the Program Files/PF Magic/Resource/Dogz. oh and of course I have to administrate any copying/cutting/pasting haha. I don't really know otherwise, if doing it like that doesn't work D: sorry if that wasn't useful at all!

What should I do about the fact that one of the other petz I opened in LNZ in the textures it doesnt say Resource/Catz/etc.bmp it says \ptzfiles\cat\Ta\TABBY-REX-BLACK-STRIPES.bmp 0 256 256

change any instances of \ptzfiles\cat\Ta\ to whatever folder you put this external texture in (which is most often \Resource\Catz). so basically if it says
\ptzfiles\cat\Ta\TABBY-REX-BLACK-STRIPES.bmp
make it
\Resource\Catz\TABBY-REX-BLACK-STRIPES.bmp

Ok i'm a failure.... :/ I went into LNZ and under the tabby.cat there are no external textures to be found, but when I open Bobcat.pet and change the \ptzfiles\cat\Ta\TABBY-REX-BLACK-STRIPES.bmp to \Resource\Catz\TABBY-REX-BLACK-STRIPES.bmp the game freezes and shut down...

hmm are the TABBY-REX-BLACK-STRIPES.bmp files your own external textures? if they're from in-game, change the beginning path to \art\textures\... if they're your own textures, make sure they are 256 colors/8 bit! if this still doesn't work, I have no idea, I'm so sorry :c try going to RKC and asking there, Brynn & Artemis, amongst others, are good at solving this sort of problem!

I had to go in to paint and change it to 256....Then go into LNZ and change the path to Resource\Catz, I felt like an idiot lol but I had originally had the body black spots and the legs and such blue, but when I changed it to 256, it made them look identicle so it made having two textures pointless, so I changed it to brown instead of grey, now it looks like this instead of this But it worked out nicely I think

I can probably do it on PSP so that it doesn't change it to tan, if you like? you can send me the unchanged bmps to me at aussome@googlemail.com and I'll see what I can do c:
